Stanley 1.5 inch Stud Sensor is a handheld device which senses and locates the wall studs on walls and wooden surfaces. The 1.5-inch Stud Sensor contains a central marking channel that accurately detects the studs behind the walls and surfaces. The Stud Sensor scans the framing studs up to the depth of 1.5 inches using multiple sensor plates.

For detecting the studs, the stud sensor uses certain algorithms and fetches the readings directly from the sensor plates. The stud sensor can also be used for levelling the surfaces and replaces the measuring tape. The 1.5-inch stud sensor detects the studs irrespective of the type of studs such as metal studs, wooden studs, wooden beams, etc.
