This set is useful for testing dielectric strength of the insulating oils normally used in distribution and high voltage transformers. The application of a particular strength of oil is specified in the IS books as per IS standard specifications. As per IS standard this test is for one minute.

Safety Measures:

• Zero interlocking arrangement before energizing HT transformer after each test.
• A transparent protective hood on the test cup with a interlocking micro switch for operator safety so that the HV transformers cannot be energized or remain energized when the transparent protective hood is opened.

Metering	Volt meter panel meter marked 0-50KV 'OR' 0-60KV 60 KV 'or' 70 KV 'or' 75 KV 'or' 80 KV 'or' 90 KV 'or' 100 KV 'or' 120 KV should indicate the applied voltage to liquid dielectric and also have memory effect. For example in a 60kV Oil Test Set the Voltmeter range shall be 60kV, so on and so forth
Auxiliaries	The unit will have necessary switches, fuses indicating lamps, push button operated contactor etc. for efficient operation of unit
Electrodes	Brass polished spherical electrodes Diameter mounted on a horizontal axis which can be set to a gap of 2.5 mm. Or 4mm
Construction	Naturally air cooled. Portable sheet metal casting. Provided with handles consisting of control section and HT transformer in single cubicles
