Intended use / Application

Professional set for repairing M5-M12 threads. The drill bits and taps are made of HSS 4341 high-speed steel. Single-stage taps cut the thread into which a spiral insert made of hard stainless steel is inserted. A guide knob and a punch are used to insert the insert, which breaks the protruding tip of the insert.

The set is designed for 5 types of threads:

M5 x 0.8 x 6.7 mm,
M6 x 1.0 x 10.8 mm,
M8 x 1.25 x 10.8 mm,
M10 x 1.5 x 13.5 mm,
M12 x 1.75 x 16.3 mm.

How to use

• Determine the size of the damaged thread, and then select the repair kit of the same size.
• Drill out the damaged thread with the drill bit provided.
• Then thread it using the tap provided in the kit. 
• The tap should be placed in the handwheel intended for taps.
• The knob is not included in the kit.
• Place the insert on the knob for spiral inserts so that the transverse part of the insert is in the slot in the knob. 
• Then secure the insert with a ring so that it does not stretch
• When screwed in. Secure the ring with a screw.
• Screw the insert completely into the pre-threaded hole. 
• Pull out the knob. Use a pin to break off the transverse part of the insert.
• Screw the screw into the repaired thread.
